Il loro meccanismo d&#8217;azione pu\u00f2 variare: alcuni formano una pellicola superficiale, altri si diffondono lentamente dal nucleo del materiale, e altri ancora, come le cariche a struttura lamellare, riducono gli sforzi di taglio.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\">La soluzione proposta da Plastanalisi<\/h4>\n<p>Dopo un&#8217;attenta valutazione, abbiamo proposto una strategia di analisi combinata, basandoci sulla nostra esperienza pluriennale nel campo delle analisi sui polimeri. Dato che il campione si presentava di colore bianco, abbiamo subito ristretto il campo della ricerca ai lubrificanti pi\u00f9 probabili: il PTFE e il silicone.<\/p>\n<p>Per il PTFE, abbiamo utilizzato una combinazione di tecniche: l&#8217;<strong>analisi termica DSC<\/strong> per la verifica qualitativa (presenza\/assenza) e la <strong>cromatografia ionica (IC)<\/strong> per la quantificazione precisa. Parallelamente, per il silicone, abbiamo proceduto con un&#8217;estrazione mirata del materiale, seguita da un&#8217;analisi <strong>FT-IR<\/strong> (Spettroscopia a infrarossi in trasformata di Fourier) per confermarne la presenza e, infine, determinarne la percentuale in peso.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Risultati analisi<\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Le nostre analisi hanno portato a un risultato chiaro. Abbiamo riscontrato la presenza di un solo additivo lubrificante all&#8217;interno del campione: silicone, con un contenuto in peso pari al 2%. La spettroscopia FT-IR ha confermato la struttura chimica del silicone, fornendo una prova inconfutabile.<br \/>Questo dato ha fornito al cliente un&#8217;informazione preziosa per il suo progetto. This information is crucial for optimizing the material's tribological properties, such as reducing friction and wear.\nLubricant additives like PTFE, molybdenum disulfide (MoS2), graphite, or silicones are often added to polymers during the compounding phase to improve their performance. Their mechanism of action can vary: some form a surface film, others slowly diffuse from the core of the material, and still others, such as those with a lamellar structure, reduce shear stress.<\/p>\n\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\">The solution proposed by Plastanalisi<\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">After a careful evaluation, we proposed a combined analysis strategy based on our many years of experience in polymer analysis. Since the sample was white, we immediately narrowed the search to the most likely lubricants: PTFE and silicone.\nFor the PTFE, we used a combination of techniques: <strong>DSC thermal analysis<\/strong> for qualitative verification (presence\/absence) and <strong>ion chromatography (IC)<\/strong> for precise quantification. Simultaneously, for the silicone, we performed a targeted extraction of the material, followed by an <strong>FT-IR analysis<\/strong> (Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy) to confirm its presence and, finally, determine its percentage by weight.<\/p>\n\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Analysis results<\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Our analysis led to a clear result. We found only one lubricant additive inside the sample: silicone, with a content of 2% by weight. The FT-IR spectroscopy confirmed the chemical structure of the silicone, providing irrefutable proof.\nThis data provided the client with valuable information for their project.
